Where it all began!
In 2021 I worked on an international research and development collaboration project Eye See Ai with Hijinx theatre company and the Mat Tran Ensemble and Tohe Fun in Vietnam. We created short performances in Wales for specific locations in Hanoi using augmented reality technology, the audience would then be able to view the performances at the chosen locations on their phones. Similarly, work was created in Hanoi for specific locations in Cardiff, Wales.

In essence this research and development phase is all about jumping inside someone’s head, what impact does that feeing of overload have, when everything just becomes too much, when you feel you can’t breathe, when what you really need to do is stop, but the pressures of life mean you can’t, or don’t and you just try and keep going.

As mentioned, I am fascinated by what happens when you bring dance and theatre together, so many possibilities! The first few days were spent looking at the fusion of these two disciplines and, to add to that exciting synthesis, the music!
